Mikrobiome
Digestion/gastritis/immune system

The microbiome is made up of all the bacteria, fungi, viruses and their genes that are naturally present in our bodies. Although microbes are too small to be seen with the naked eye, they play a vital role in our well-being and health.

They protect us from pathogens, support the development of the immune system, aid in digestion, etc. Microbes affect our health in many ways. Some make environmental factors less toxic for us, while others have the opposite effect. The basic human microbiome is formed in the first years of life, but it can change over time. It depends on our diet, medications and other environmental factors.

The microbiome in our gut consists of trillions of microbes and its imbalances manifest itself in chronic problems such as allergies, various kinds of digestive problems, chronic inflammatory diseases and mood disorders. It is the underlying cause of many age-related problems and diseases.

A balanced microbiome keeps us healthy and slows down our aging process.

The microbiome test includes a comprehensive analysis of gut microbes. The focus will be on the microbes that are most likely to disturb the normal microbial balance. Intestinal permeability (leaky gut syndrome), which underlies many chronic problems, is also assessed. We are the only clinic in Estonia to offer an intestinal permeability assessment.

The test at the Happy Aging clinic is the most comprehensive microbiome test on the market, as it identifies not only microbes but also important viruses, parasites and fungi. In addition, it assesses markers that are vital to the optimal functioning of the digestive system: digestive enzymes, inflammatory markers, immune markers, gluten sensitivity markers, intestinal permeability markers and others.

The sample is brought to the clinic and the results will be available within 21 days. After the results arrive, you will be invited to an on-site medical consultation.
